Technical Physics 1

806-180 (3 credits) In this three credit introductory physics course, the applications and theory of basic physics principles are presented. Extensive problem-solving, laboratory investigation and applications are involved.Topics include measurement, force, statics, dynamics and motion, work, energy and power, machines, properties of solids and liquids, and the study of heat.

This course is required for the following programs:

Electronics
Industrial Engineering Technician

806-190 (2 credits) In this two credit introductory physics course the applications and theory of basic physics principles are presented. Emphasis is on problem-solving and laboratory investigation.Topics include measurement, force, statics, dynamics and motion, work, energy and power, machines, properties of solids and liquids, and the study of heat.

806-162(3 credits) This course introduces the student to matter and its physical properties, energy and its relation to mechanics and light, and the basic principles of electricity. Qualitative and quantitative relationships of these properties will be studied. Good mathematical skills are required.

Physics - Graphic Arts

806-163 (3 credits) The natural laws and processes dealing with matter and energy are covered. This will enable the graphic arts student to deal with physical principles related to the printing process. An understanding of physical properties of matter, heat, light, optics, and elctricity is emphasized.

Physics for Physical Therapy Assistants

806-116(4 credits) This course examines the principles of physics and their relationship to the human physical structure. It will treat the human body as a compound interaction of simple machines with certain abilities and limitations due to stresson bone structure, strain on muscles and ligaments, impediments to fluid flow and strengthof structural materials. Heat, waves, sound, and electricity are also covered.
