10 Instructor Obtain stock for required center size. *  
15 Instructor Calculate dimension "A" and "B," using your textbook or the Machinery’s Handbook.
20 Instructor Have your instructor check your calculations. *  
25 Lathe Chuck part and face to clean up.
30 Lathe Center drill
40 Lathe Turn part in chuck face to length and center drill.
50 Lathe Turn diameter "F."
60 Lathe Set up lathe to turn between centers. Place small lathe dog on the "F" diameter.
70 Lathe Turn diameter "C."
80 Lathe File the 0.06 radius. Check with a radius gage.
90 Lathe Calculate the taper (using tailstock offset method).
100 Instructor Have calculations checked by an instructor. Be ready to answer questions on how to measure the offset amount. *  
110 Lathe Take trial cuts. Check the taper for fit using the Morse taper gage.
120 Lathe Finish cutting taper to the "A" dimension. Remember to leave grind stock.
130 Lathe Set up compound rest to cut the 60 degree included angle.
140 Lathe Deburr entire job.
150 Bench Inspect part.
160 Instructor Turn in for grading. *
