| 40 | Lathe | Turn part in chuck face to length and center drill. | ||
| 50 | Lathe | Turn diameter "F." | ||
| 60 | Lathe | Set up lathe to turn between centers. Place small lathe dog on the "F" diameter. | ||
| 70 | Lathe | Turn diameter "C." | ||
| 80 | Lathe | File the 0.06 radius. Check with a radius gage. | ||
| 90 | Lathe | Calculate the taper (using tailstock offset method). | ||
| 100 | Instructor | Have calculations checked by an instructor. Be ready to answer questions on how to measure the offset amount. | * | |
| 110 | Lathe | Take trial cuts. Check the taper for fit using the Morse taper gage. | ||
| 120 | Lathe | Finish cutting taper to the "A" dimension. Remember to leave grind stock. | ||

| 140 | Lathe | Deburr entire job. | ||
