10 Instructor Secure stock from the instructor. *  
20 Lathe  Place part in a 4 jaw chuck center part to within .005 using dial indicator.
30 Lathe  Face end to clean up.
40 Lathe Center drill, pilot drill, and drill the 1-1/4 drilled hole to depth.
50 Lathe Turn part in the 4 jaw chuck center part to within .005 using dial indicator.
60 Lathe Layout and face part to length.
70 Student Look up in the Machinery’s Handbook the minor diameter specifications for the thread. Input these dimensions on the print.
80 Instructor Have instructor check specifications for the thread. *  
90 Lathe Center drill, pilot drill, and drill approx. 0.030 inches under the minor diameter of the thread.
100 Lathe Set up to bore minor diameter of the thread.
110 Lathe Bore the hole for the thread.
120 Lathe Bore the 0.12 X 45 degree chamfer.
130 Lathe Set up to internally thread the part. Be ready to answer questions concerning procedures for internal acme threading and spring cuts.
135 Instructor Have the instructor check setup. *  
140 Lathe Thread the part. Use a thread gage to check the fit.
150 Bench Deburr and inspect the part.
160 Instructor Have your work graded by the instructor. *
