| 30 | Grinder | Rough grind the back rake angle as specified. | ||
| 40 | Layout | Use a radius gage and layout dye, layout the radius on the tool. | ||
| 50 | Grinder | Holding the tool to form front and side relief simultaneously, rough grind in the radius. Be careful not to burn the layout dye off. | ||
| 60 | Grinder | Switch to the finer grit wheel and very gently finish grind all surfaces TO ONE FACET. | ||
| 70 | Bench | Hone the radius and the burrs from the tool. | ||
| 80 | Bench | Inspect tool | ||
| 90 | Instructor | Turn in for grading. | * |
